  1. Your row widths appear far too wide. Most farmers sow in rows five to seven inches apart.

  2. Thanks for the tip - I wasn't too meticulous with my measurements and don't pretend to know the first thing about growing ;-)

    ...your suspicions are correct with my rows being close to 12" apart. What's the main significance of the row spacing; is it just about getting the right trade off between yield, access and competition from weeds?
